Description
Saritha Vara, Swathi Dash, Bhavya Kavitha Dwarapureddi, Manoj Kumar Karnena, Aman Raj and R. Sai GandhiDepartment of Environmental Science, Institute of Science, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam, IndiaPart of the book: Research Advancements in Organic FarmingChapter DOI: https://doi.org/10.52305/VTBY5056AbstractOrganic farming is endorsed with being self-balanced, sustainable, environment friendly, shielding neighboring flora and fauna, reducing infestation from weed through rotational farming, indigenous knowledge, harnessing nature, optimization of input, regenerative capacity and perfect resource and nutrient preservation. Ratio of cost to benefit for sustainable agriculture is significantly higher in methods of sustainable agriculture since the principal requirement is meagre, while principal practices of farming include fertilizer costs as well as pesticides, thus reducing the ratio of profit to capital. Additional shortcoming of contemporary farming is unwarranted induction of chemicals to human system resulting in severe psychological and physiological implications. The major focus of this chapter is to comprehend organic farming from its origin and to appreciate its advantages in various areas of environment, social, economic and agriculturists along with focusing on its need in future. Keywords: organic farming, sustainability, farmers, healthReferencesAhmad, A.
