Despite increasing therapeutic opportunities to control diseases such as hypertension, obesity and diabetes, the elastic fiber damage that often accompanies these diseases is now irreparable, meaning that cardiovascular risks from arterial stiffness may persist even when other conditions are present. Aspects of the disease are controlled.
